Starks and Nacey E.P.

STARKS & NACEY PHOTO

After his very enjoyable remix of Major Lazer's "Hold The Line", we were more than delighted to have Washington D.C.'s Nacey drop us a line with some heat from the new "Starks and Nacey E.P.". You can grab the full release here. You can download our picks below.

He sent us this spiffing blurb too:

"Starks & Nacey are two-thirds of Nouveau Riche, a monthly party in Washington, DC, started in 2006 by fellow DJ Gavin Holland. In 2008, the party was awarded "Best Dance Night" in the City Paper’s "Best of DC" issue, and the two have been described by the Washington Post as “some of the District’s more prolific DJs.” Starks & Nacey are known for their high-energy sets and have shared the stage with the likes of The Count & Sinden, AC Slater, Nadastrom, MSTRKRFT, Blaqstarr, Miami Horror, Scottie B and Eli Escobar to name a few. Their productions have won contests on Discobelle and Mad Decent, and recently appeared on Fool's Gold label head Nick Catchdubs's Australian Tour Mix. Their debut EP keeps things moving with an introduction to the duo’s distinctive styles, and their attitude of having fun in the club."

Emynd - Club Champ EP Out Now!

Emynd of Crossfaded Bacon and Unruly has a new EP out and he's offering sneak peeks and exclusive downloads over here. You can buy it over here.

Official blurb:

"“The Club Champ EP” is Emynd’s newest digital-only EP of exclusive Club and Dance anthems that showcase his forward thinking approach of uniquely combining his vast influences, infusing songs with elements of Hip-Hop, House, Baltimore Club, and New Orleans Bounce. On the title track “The Club Champ,” Emynd digs deep into his Hip Hop breakbeat background, producing an energetic Bmore influenced banger that thumps with heavy organs and smashing kick drums. While Scott Matelic’s remix of the track adds various twists and turns that recontextualize the vibe effortlessly, premier New Orleans producer Peacachoo’s Bounce remix completely deconstructs the song, transforming it into an entirely new Bounce anthem that’ll rattle the bassbins from the Bayou to Bass Music parties everywhere. Rounding out the release are the tumbling “Triggerman” bells on “Hot Down Here,” the NY House influenced “Okay! What’s Up!” and “Hold It Down 2009” — a track originally featured exclusively on the Do It To It Volume 2 Vinyl release alongside work from heavyweights Nadastrom, Bird Peterson, and Tittsworth. (”Hold it Down 2009″ is Emynd’s updated re-working of the classic 2 Bad Mice song “Hold It Down”) Already supported by some of the biggest DJs in the world from Diplo to Sinden to Dave Nada, it’s another sure fire, champion sound release!"

Philly to Bmore

Image

Anyone up on their Club sounds should definitely be feeling Emynd especially if you have a taste for b-boy breaks and rap. His output seems to be going from strength to strength right now with remixes like his Rock Creek Park and Mad Again re-dos doing damage on hip hop and club dancefloors.
