Fool's Gold Records + Dust La Rock

There has been some strong music artwork this year. Fools Gold, the NYC label created by A-Trak and Nick Catchdubs wisely installed Dust La Rock as director of all things visual. Developing a colourful, hand drawn, vector brand, evoking a cartoon-party-fun vibe. With even some BMX bling for good measure:

All areas of promo artwork have had the Dust La Rock touch, the sleeve artwork allow Dust to develop different identifiable styles for artist such as Kid Sister, Cool Kids, Sammy Bananas:

The best has to be the 70's surfer meets nu-rave roadtrip promo for the tour this year:

There seems to be a feeling that Fools Gold, like many of its contemparies, are about working with your mates or other creatives all in the name of being productive and having fun.

Just as the release tunes by other artist they like, it seems the same has happened with A-Trak's Dirty South EP, with design credits going to stencil legend, Shepard Fairey a.k.a Obey.

The latest Fool's gold track is the Bag Raider's "pro nails" remix:

But here's my favourite of recent times, and is included on Alpha's forthcoming mixtape: This is the Goodness Two:
